Are You Living in the Word?

There is an age old adage that states, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.”  What does that mean?  Well, in its simplest terms, it means you can’t know something/someone unless you study them.  You can’t know what a book is about, unless you open it and read it.  You can’t truly know a person, unless you open up the “book” of their life and study them.  Many of us, however, try to “know” God, “know” Christ without devoting time to reading the Bible, God’s Word to us!  In our last Grow lesson, this is what we discussed.  We too often rely on others for our knowledge when it comes to Christ; we don’t take the time to open the Bible and read it for ourselves.  As we look deeper at spiritual growth, and what it means to GROW in Christ, we must realize that if we are not devoting ourselves to personal Bible study, we are not growing.  Paul says in Philippians 1:21, “For to me, living means living for Christ…”  How can we know what it is to live for Christ, if we are not first in God’s Word?  Ponder this question as you take this survey…
