I was born in Mayfield, KY about 20 minutes south of Paducah. I am the baby of 4 siblings. I received Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of sixteen. Shortly after my salvation, God called me to the ministry. Ever since, my passion has been for young adult ministry, serving as a youth Sunday School teacher at my church for nearly two years prior to attending college.
When I first started college, I was pre-Med, but that changed for reasons that I can only say was God had another plan for me. I served as Youth Intern at FBC in Frankfort for a year, where I focused on and led the HS/MS students. I graduated from Georgetown College in 2005 with a BA in Philosophy, and minors in Chemistry/Biology. A few months after graduation, my wife, April and I were married and have been married for twelve years now. For most of that twelve years, I have worked with Graybar Electric in multiple capacities, moving to the Cincinnati area to be the Manager of Customer Service in 2015.
In 2011, I became the Youth Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, where I served for nearly two years. Even after this, I spent time in the same neighborhood assisting with youth programs for local students. In 2013, my wife and I were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Alyvia. She’s a normal tireless toddler, but she truly is a gift from God. We had our second daughter, Raeleigh in 2017. She is yet another precious gift from God.
My passion and desire is to serve God, serve others, and teach students about the joy they can have in Christ. Having worked with teenagers in one capacity or another for the last seventeen years, I only want to continue fulfilling the call I feel God has placed on my heart to teach and encourage students to a greater understanding of Him and His will for their lives. This is the focus that produced SYNC Young Adult Ministries. Teaching young adults to Seek God, to Yield control of their lives to Him, to Nourish their spiritual selves through Bible study, prayer, quiet times, and to Connect both inside and outside the church walls, is our passion and drive. Please pray for our students, our leaders, and our church as we seek to teach and serve.
Favorite Verse: 1 Corinthians 6:17 (driving force of SYNC), 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (I love prayer!)
Favorite Bible Story: David and Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9) – An often overlooked passage of scripture that has gotten me through many trials. God remembers and loves me even though I am crippled in my sin. The king has a crippled son and that son is me!
