Welcome to SYNC Young Adult Ministries. We are so excited that you have decided to visit our site, and pray you will visit us in person! SYNC YA Ministries exists to help young adults grow in their faith and in their walk with Christ. SYNC is an acronym for what we believe to be the most important things in life. SEEK, YIELD, NOURISH, and CONNECT. Below is a little more on this, but the short story of our ministry is that we desire to assist parents in discipling young adults to become fully devoted, fully committed followers of Christ!
From creation, God created everything, including us, to be in SYNC with Him. We were created to be in connection with Him, but this connection was destroyed when Adam and Eve fell. SYNC stands for many things, and explains how we come back in SYNC with God thru receipt of Christ’s sacrifice, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. SYNC stands for such things as Seeking Your Natural Connection, So You Need Christ, Sacrifice Your Need to Control, and Serving Your Near Community. SYNC also stands for Seek, Yield, Nourish, Connect.
S – Seek – We must seek to be more and more like Christ, seeking the will of God for our lives. Matthew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Y – Yield – We must yield to the will of God if we are truly to become in SYNC with God. Mark 14:36, “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
N – Nourish – We must nourish our spiritual bodies with those things that are holy and pleasing to God: Bible study, corporate worship, prayer, etc. Acts 2:42. “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.”
C – Connect – We must connect with God thru the above, and thru connection with fellow believers, specifically people that will hold us accountable in love. We must also seek to connect with those outside the church walls as well. John 13:34-35, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
